Einstein is een Amerikaanse zeearend, een knuffel die bevrijd is in Amerika en vanuit Mexico naar Nederland gekomen om de Europese cultuur te bestuderen. Hij is aan 3s4all geschonken door Jeff, een Amerikaan, die regelmatig Mexico bezoekt. Einstein heeft iets met getallen, daar besteedt hij een groot deel van de dag aan.
Einstein denkt na over het getal 5
Er is maar één Einstein en die werd vandaag 5 jaar oud. Einstein was er niet zo bij op zijn verjaardag. De reden was dat hij verstrikt raakte in gedachten over het getal 5. Hij had namelijk gehoord dat 5 deel uitmaakt van de eerste priemtweeling en dat het het tweede primoriale priemgetal is. Hij is de hele dag bezig geweest om het op een rijtje te zetten:
Een priemtweeling wordt gevormd door twee getallen die elkaar opvolgen
in de reeks van priemgetallen (getallen die uitsluitend deelbaar zijn
door 1 en door zichzelf) en die 2 van elkaar verschillen.
Bijvoorbeeld 3 en 5, 5 en 7, 11 en 13, 17 en 19. Einstein vroeg zich af
tot hoever de priemtweelingen gaan. Tot oneindig? De grootste
priemtweeling die in 2011 bekend was, wordt gevormd door twee
priemgetallen die bestaan uit tweehonderduizendzevenhonderd (200.700)
cijfers. Als je beide getallen achter elkaar uitschrijft (10 cijfers op
4 cm) kom je op een regel van ruim 1,5 km.
Een primoriaal priemgetal is een priemgetal dat gelijk is aan het product van de voorgaande priemgetallen plus of min 1. Dus, dacht Einstein, als de priemgetallen 1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19 etc. zijn, dan is het eerste primoriale priemgetal 3, want 1x2 + 1 = 3. En dus is 5 het tweede primoriale priemgetal, want 1x2x3 - 1 = 5. En zo dacht hij verder: 7 = 1x2x3 +1; 29 = 1x2x3x5 -1. Hoever zou dit wel gaan? In 2012 bestond het grootst bekende primoriale priemgetal uit 476.311 cijfers (2 km). Natuurlijk leverde die min en plus 1 priemtweelingen op. Maar niet alle priemtweelingen.
Zou er een aparte naam bestaan voor de priemtweelingen die geen primoriaal priemgetal zijn?
Einstein ging doodmoe, maar voldaan naar bed. Volgend jaar komt het getal 6 aan de beurt.

9 is my number!
Dear Jeff,
I know about the Greek word “Enneade”, meaning ninehood. This is the
last one of the single numbers and therefore it combines all properties
of the numbers prior to it. It is the end, the completion, the horizon.
After this there are limitless possibilities to make combined numbers
with all of the archetypical properties of the first 9 numbers again and
again and again.
There are a lot of references to number 9. There are 9 angel choirs,
there are 9 muzes, in old Egypt there were 9 gods in the creation
stories, for the Chinese 9 was the centre, the turningpoint for the 8
stages of life.
Odin hang in a tree for 9 days to get a grip on the wisdom of humanity.
All this indicates the perfection and completeness. And when you realize
that the number 3 is the synthesis of 1 and 2, and that 9 is 3 x 3, you
will be aware that 9 is the number of the triple synthesis of body, mind
and soul of man. Number 9 is therefore associated with big power, also
with supernatural power.
You only have to listen to “number nine” on the White Album of the Beatles, to know that John Lennon knew the meaning of this number.
And check this:
4+3=7 7+9=16 (16: 1+6=7)
1+2=3 3+9=12 (12: 1+2=3)
7+1=8 8+9=17 (17: 1+7=8)
And
9x6 = 54 (54: 5+4=9)
9x15=135 (135: 1+3+5=9)
9x107=963 (963: 9+6+3=18=2x9)
So when you multiply by 9, the number nine never disappears. This, of
course, is a reference to the general wisdom that we all are one.
The 9th card of Tarot is called “The Wise One”. Here we see an old man
with a staff with a lantern. There is a rabbit leaning against the
staff. This rabbit is a symbol for the unexperienced who wants to learn.
The old man has followed the path of wisdom, so that he unitied body,
mind and soul. Now he can illuminate this path for others.
These are my thoughts on my 9th birthday and I am very glad to share
these thoughts with you, my father in the States.
